Meet the Owners
Cindy has loved horses since she was a little girl. After watching the movie The Black Stallion, Cindy was relentlessly obsessed and got her first horse not much later. The Akhal-Teke is a rare breed worldwide, and almost nonexistent in the United States. Cindy still managed to find a few close enough to start her own herd, and now she is the only breeder in Kentucky, and one of the largest breeders in the country.
Cindy prides herself on keeping the soundness of the horse in mind, while retaining the regal features that makes the Akhal-Teke so unique. Each pair is combed over for imperfections that could be passed on, and only the mares with correct conformation are brought to our stallions.
Once foaled, our horses are started with imprinting out in the pasture. We touch, pet, nuzzle and hug our babies to ensure that people are a normal part of life right off the bat. We use natural horsemanship to instill ground manners as early as possible, and maintain safety and obedience in every step of our training.
Our horses are started slowly under saddle, and methodically trained with a dressage based outline to ensure balance and ease of transition into any discipline.
